Parade/St Damians Junior Football Club
A big thank you to those who attended the 1994 Colts (under 17) 30-year reunion at Binnak Park on Sunday. Memories came flooding back and it was nice to see players reminiscing on what was an amazing season. Thanks to Ted, who dug out an old annual report, we also have some additional information on the 1994 season. There’s also an action photo of the super coach Jim Christoff and his write up at the conclusion of the season. In the annual report, then President the late Joe Benincasa congratulated the Colts side for winning the premiership in their last year at St Damian’s JFC and announced that they had finally secured the flag from the league after a 6 month wait. He also congratulates David Aiello on winning the DDJFL Best and Fairest for the Colts.Secretary at the time, Ken Lynch, stated that Coach (Jim Christoff) and Team Manager (Laurie Martin) took the under 17 Colts through a fairly tough season (and an even tougher Grand Final) to win the clubs third Premiership for the year and congratulated the boys on ending their junior footy at St Damian's in this way.In addition, he noted that four Colts players (Paul Eccles, David Aiello, Michael Lynch and Anthony Maleta) were selected in the Parade College side that played at the MCG in August.#paradesaints #throwback #1994 #colts #premiership ...
